My backyard shed and the property line honesty check

Last month, I built a wooden shed in my backyard and checked the property lines with an old survey. I found the back corner was on my neighbor's side by six inches. I thought about leaving it since moving it meant more digging and another concrete pour. But I knew it could cause problems later, so I talked to my neighbor. He appreciated my honesty and helped me adjust the layout. Now the shed is correctly placed, and we get along better. This honesty turned a potential issue into a positive outcome.

Man, that's such a good reminder. People are always cutting corners to save time or money. But that little lie just sits there and grows into something worse. It's like with fences, sheds, even just borrowing a tool without asking. Small honesty now saves you from big headaches later. You set yourself up for way less drama.

Did the same thing with our fence last year.

Why did I think I could do it myself?
