My 20 minute shelf swap turned into 4 hours because of one stripped screw
I tried to move a floating shelf in my kitchen last Saturday and the last screw just spun in place forever, so I ended up cutting a hole in the drywall and patching it with a scrap piece I had in the garage, and now I'm wondering if anyone has a trick for grabbing a stripped screw head without wrecking the wall around it.
Did you try the rubber band trick before going after the drywall? A wide rubber band between the screwdriver and the stripped head gives it something to bite into, and it has saved me more than once.
