Just realized my neighbor was right about drywall mud
Last Saturday I was complaining to my neighbor Bob about how my drywall joints kept cracking after a week. He told me I was mixing the joint compound too thin, like soup basically. I always thought thinner meant smoother finish but Bob showed me his mix which was way thicker like peanut butter. Tried it on my basement wall and zero cracks so far. Anybody else get schooled by an old timer on something basic?

Man that's a solid lesson right there. It's wild how something so basic can mess up the whole job if you're not careful. Bob sounds like the kind of neighbor everyone needs for DIY stuff.
