I used to think painters tape was a waste of money
Spent years using masking tape from the dollar store and wondering why my lines always bled through. Switched to the blue stuff after a $50 paint job turned into a mess on my living room trim last summer.

My buddy Tom tried to save a buck on his kitchen cabinets last fall with cheap tape and ended up having to repaint half of them because the edges looked like a five year old did them. He finally caved and bought the blue stuff for the second round and called me whining about how much easier it was to just pull off clean lines. Really makes you wonder why we all gotta learn the hard way before we believe something works.

You've got my sympathy @ellis.felix. Your buddy Tom learned a lesson almost every one of us has to learn the hard way on that one, didn't he?
