Heard my neighbor say he just uses a cheap paintbrush for everything, and it made me stop
I was outside with the kids and overheard my neighbor, Frank, telling another guy that he buys the $2 paintbrushes from the hardware store for all his projects. He said, 'They're all the same after a few uses anyway.' I've always done the same thing, just grabbing whatever was cheapest. But last month, I painted our living room trim with one of those brushes and it was a mess. The bristles shed everywhere, and the lines were fuzzy. I spent more time picking hairs out of the paint than actually painting. It made me realize that maybe the right tool for the job isn't just a saying. I'm not saying you need the $30 brush, but maybe the $8 one in the middle is worth it. Has anyone else found a specific tool where spending a little more actually saved you time and hassle?
