TIL driveway sealer needs 48 hours of dry weather, not 24
I used to seal my blacktop in the fall without checking the forecast, figured one clear day was plenty. Then a neighbor in Raleigh told me he lost a whole $200 job because it rained on day two, so I looked it up on the county extension site. Turns out most latex sealers need 48 hours of temps above 50 and zero rain to really cure, and I'd been cutting it close every single time. Anyone else find out the hard way that the label's '24 hours to dry' is just the surface tack time?

Isn't it funny how we always trust the shortest time on the label instead of checking the real science behind it, like we're all just one rainstorm away from learning the hard way?
