Neighbor's crack filler advice cost me a whole Saturday

My neighbor swore by the wet pour method where you hose the crack down before filling it. Did that last spring in Columbus, waited a week, and the patch just floated right out during the first heavy rain. Anyone else get burned by that trick or did I just do it wrong?

Ugh, wet pour only works if you let it dry for a month, I heard that on a podcast.
