Used to think zip ties were forever, now I hate them

I used to just zip tie every cable under my desk tight and snip the ends, thought it looked pro. Then last week I had to swap out a monitor cable and spent 20 minutes clipping off 15 zip ties I couldn't even see anymore. Anyone else switched to velcro straps and never looked back?

Fifteen zip ties just to swap one cable? That sounds like a nightmare waiting to happen. Did you ever try just leaving a little slack in the first place?
