Oh man, I once spent a good twenty minutes trying to fix a wobbly table with a folded napkin before realizing my floor was just tilted. Honestly, a stranger showing up to help is way better than my "folded paper shim" method, which always ends up sliding out. Glad someone saved you from that embarrassing struggle!

@jamiekim totally nailed it with the floor tilt thing. I actually read some article last week that said like 60% of wobbly furniture is the floor, not the furniture itself. Makes sense when you think about how many old buildings and bad subfloors are out there. Always worth checking with a level before you blame the desk or chair. People probably waste hours shoving cardboard under things when the real fix is just moving it six inches.
