Shoutout to the guy at Home Depot who talked me out of buying a $200 prebuilt monitor riser
He just pointed at the lumber aisle and said 'bro you can build that for 12 bucks and an hour of your time' and now my dual monitor setup stands on a 2x4 frame I stained myself, has anyone else gotten better advice from a random stranger than from any YouTube tutorial?

Oh man, I gotta disagree a little here. Those prebuilt risers are overpriced for sure, but not everyone has tools or wants to mess with staining wood. I tried the DIY route once and my monitors wobbled like crazy because I didn't sand the edges right.

I sanded mine three times with 80 grit then 120, and hit the bottom with those little felt furniture pads... no wobble at all, just gotta take the extra 15 minutes on the prep.
