My cheap monitor arm came with a surprise load rating I never checked
I found out my $35 gas spring arm from Amazon is only rated for 12 pounds, but my ultrawide weighs 14.5, so it's been slowly drooping for 6 months without me noticing. I only caught it because I spotted the tiny sticker on the base while redoing cable ties, so has anyone else ignored those specs and regretted it?

Damn, six months of slow droop and you never noticed?? That's wild to me. I would have lost my mind staring at my screen being crooked every single day, I'm way too picky about that stuff. Also 12 pounds vs 14.5 is not even close, that's a massive fail on the manufacturer's part for even selling that for ultrawides. Honestly you're lucky it didn't just give out completely and send your monitor crashing onto your desk. I'd be double checking every single arm spec from now on, even the ones that say "heavy duty" on the box.
