Can we talk about how one power strip killed my $900 desk build
My neighbor Rob, who does electrical work, stopped by two weeks ago and pointed at my daisy chained power strips under the desk, saying "you're pulling 15 amps through one $8 strip, that's a fire waiting to happen." I moved the monitors and PC to a $25 metal surge strip with a 6 foot cord and the plastic on the old one was already soft and warm to the touch. How many of you are running a whole rig off one cheap strip right now?

Rob's right, melted plastic means it was already close.
