Warning: My brake job turned into a nightmare last Saturday
I was replacing the front pads on my 2012 Civic in my driveway. Got the caliper off easy enough, but when I went to compress the piston, it just wouldn't budge. I even rented the tool from AutoZone but ended up cracking the caliper bracket. Had to call a tow truck to a shop on Colfax and paid $180 for them to fix it. Has anyone else had a stuck caliper piston ruin their whole afternoon?

1990s Civics are notorious for this... my friend's 98 Si had the same issue with the rear calipers seizing up. A little PB Blaster on the slider pins before you start can save a lot of headaches. That $180 lesson taught you something though...

Civics and stuck calipers, name a more iconic duo. Sorry about your wallet, but hey, now you have a good story for the next barbecue.
