The way people bleed brakes has changed more than I expected

I stopped by to help a neighbor with his 2003 Ford F-150 last weekend and watched him pump the pedal like it was 1985. He kept saying you have to pump it 10 times and hold it, but on modern cars with ABS you can actually push air back into the module doing that. I had to show him the vacuum bleeder method I picked up from a old mechanic in Columbus. Has anyone else run into this confusion when helping younger guys work on their trucks?

Wait, are you saying the old pump-and-hold method can mess up the ABS module?

Ngl that pump and hold trick is a dangerous game on anything with ABS. Works great until it doesn't and then you're the one hunting down a $400 module.
