That one Tuesday my brake caliper bolt snapped, $140 lesson

Pulled into my driveway after work, heard a grinding noise. Jacked up the front end, found the lower caliper bolt sheared clean off. Lucky I didn't lose the whole brake on the highway. Cost me $18 for a new bolt and a $120 tow to get home. Now I torque every bolt with a mark on it. How do you check your brakes before they fail?
