Spent 4 HOURS just trying to get one stubborn bolt off my alternator bracket

Finally broke it loose with a breaker bar and some PB Blaster after soaking it three times, has anyone else had to fight a bolt that felt like it was welded on from the factory?

Took me three hours and a bruised knuckle on a 2003 Civic last year. That bolt was so seized I thought about just leaving the alternator in there forever. Ended up having to torch the bracket a little with a propane can and then it finally gave with a loud crack that almost made me jump off my creeper. Felt like winning a war, honestly.

Man, that crack sound is the best. Like the bolt finally surrendering. I read somewhere that heat cycling it a few times first helps. Let it cool down, then hit it again. Less chance of snapping the head off. Props to you @tyler_hernandez for sticking with it. Three hours is dedication.
