My old jack stands failed inspection so I swapped to a set of 3-ton Torins
The old ones had rust on the welds and felt shaky, but the new ones are solid steel and lock in place. Anyone have a trick for keeping the saddle pads from sliding around on the pinch welds?

Solid steel is good but I've seen those Torin stands slip on pinch welds before. The saddle is just too rounded sometimes. I put a strip of that rubbery toolbox liner on top of mine, the kind with little holes in it. Grips the metal way better and keeps the car from sliding off if you bump it.

Heard a guy on a forum say he cuts up an old bike inner tube and stretches it over the saddle, works like a charm for extra grip.
