Went to the big hardware store in Springfield and saw a guy trying to cut pressure-treated 4x4s with a basic miter saw.

The blade was smoking. He was using a standard 40-tooth blade, not a framing blade, and definitely not one rated for treated wood. I told him he was going to ruin the saw and probably get hurt. He said the guy at the counter told him it would be fine. I walked away before I saw the end result. Anyone know a good way to explain blade types to someone who's brand new?

Wait, did he at least have a face shield on? That smoke is basically poison sawdust, man. I'm trying to figure out what the counter guy was thinking, telling him that was okay. Do you think the new guy even knew what pressure treated means, or was he just following bad advice?
