Update: finally tried a track saw after years of using a circular saw and a straight edge

I was one of those guys who swore by the circular saw with a clamped straight edge. Felt like I had it dialed in after years on job sites around Austin. Last week I helped a buddy frame out a closet and he handed me his Festool track saw. I cut one sheet of melamine with it and I honestly felt kinda dumb for waiting so long. The cut was perfect right out of the box, no chipping on the laminate at all. It took me maybe 2 minutes to set up a cut that would've taken 10 minutes of measuring and clamping with my old method. The dust collection alone is worth it, my garage didn't look like a snowstorm hit it. Anyone else make the switch late and regret not doing it sooner?

Man, that Festool dust collection alone makes it worth the switch, I feel your pain on the garage snowstorms lol.

Yeah, I had a buddy who swore by his regular circular saw for years and then he borrowed a track saw for one project... he called me that night and said he felt like he'd been working with a dull rock before, @andrew_sanchez94. He spent the whole weekend cutting stuff just to hear that clean slicing sound. Now he won't shut up about it, but I can't blame him after seeing the difference.
