Tried pine jigs vs store bought ones for drawer slides. Pine won hands down.

A buddy of mine tried the store bought ones first. He spent like 40 bucks on a pack and the slides were so stiff they made the drawer sound like a dying cat. Then he ripped them out and cut some pine blocks on his table saw. Now his dresser slides like butter and he saved enough cash for a 12 pack. Pine jigs are just smarter, I guess.

Yeah but how long did those pine blocks actually last him? I tried a wooden jig once and after a few months the humidity made it swell up and jam worse than cheap hardware. Was he using dry pine or just whatever scrap he had lying around?
