Tried cheap plywood for a shed build and it actually held up fine
I built a 8x10 garden shed last summer using the cheapest 7/16 OSB from Home Depot instead of the CDX people swear by. Three seasons later and it's still standing without any sagging or rot where I put house wrap over it. Did I just get lucky or is the premium stuff overrated for small projects? Anyone else cut corners on a budget build and have it work out?

The 7/16 OSB is actually pretty decent for sheds if you keep it dry. I framed a 6x8 lean-to with the stuff and used leftover porch paint on the outside. Two winters of snow load and it's still straight. The real key is making sure your bottom plate is treated and you've got good overhang on the roof, that's where most cheap builds fail not the panels themselves.

Did you wrap the whole thing or just the roof and seams?

my buddy mike wrapped his whole minivan in matte green last summer. @finleyfox i think he said it was like 60 sq ft of vinyl total. took him and his brother a full weekend and they still messed up the rear bumper lol.
