TIL a zip tie works as a temporary pipe clamp in a pinch

Was fixing a leak under a sink and my actual clamp broke, so I wrapped a heavy duty zip tie around the pipe and cranked it tight with pliers. It held for two days until the new part arrived, lol. Anyone got other weird temporary fixes that actually worked?

Nice! Did you wrap a bit of rubber from an old inner tube or a bike tire patch under the zip tie first? That helps it seal way better on a rough pipe. I've used a cut piece of a rubber glove in a real pinch. For a bigger leak, a C-clamp and a block of wood can press a rubber pad over a hole.
