The county fair demo that changed my shed framing

Back in 2019 I watched a guy at the state fair in Des Moines frame a wall in about 12 minutes with a nail gun and a chalk line, no measuring tape after the first mark. I had been building sheds solo for years, always measuring each stud one by one. He showed me how to snap a line, cut a few long pieces, and let the spacing jig do the thinking. Now I cut all my studs in stacks and it cut my wall time down by maybe half. Anyone else pick up a trick from a live demo that you still use every job?

Honestly, I gotta call you out on the "12 minutes" thing. That's a demo, man. They set that wall up on a flat floor with precut lumber and a helper handing them stuff. It's not the same as fighting wet ground and warped studs on a Thursday afternoon. The core trick is solid though, snapping a line and stacking cuts is the real win. I do the same now but I still check my first few studs with a tape, because one bad chalk snap or a twisted 2x4 will throw the whole wall off. The spacing jig is great, but it's not gonna fix a crooked footer. So yeah, take the method home, just don't expect to hit 12 minutes anytime soon.
