The 3 dollar level that fixed my leaning bookshelf

I spent two weekends trying to shim a cheap bookcase from IKEA so it wouldn't wobble. Tried cardboard, folded paper, even a cut-up credit card. Then a buddy at work said try a bubble level and adjust the feet instead. I spent 3 dollars on a level at the hardware store and fixed it in under 5 minutes. Anyone else overthink simple fixes like this or just me?
