Spray foam in a can got weird on me, wait 24 hours before trimming it flat
Tackled a gap around a window frame in my garage last Saturday. Used one of those big cans of expanding foam, thought I could trim the excess after a couple hours like the instructions hinted. Big mistake. It was still tacky and pulled half the seal out with the knife. Left it overnight and it cut clean the next morning. That extra 20 hours saved me a redo. Anyone else rush this step and end up with a mess?

…my buddy marco did the same thing on his basement rim joist. He cut it at like 4 hours with a serrated knife and the whole blob just sagged and peeled off, stuck to his glove and everything. He ended up having to scrape it all out and redo the whole seam with a second can. Now he sets a timer for 26 hours and just leaves the knife in the shop until the next day.
