PSA: My new deck joist hangers pulled right out of the ledger board after one season.
I installed them exactly to code with the right nails in my Cincinnati backyard last spring, but the wood must have shrunk more than I expected. What's your go-to fix for this, just bigger fasteners or do I need to replace the whole bracket setup?

Cincinnati humidity warps wood, not shrinks it.

Ugh, tell me about it. My old apartment door would stick so bad every summer you had to shoulder it open. Then come winter, the gaps around it were huge. It never got smaller, just... twisted. Felt like the whole place was breathing.
