Last month I finally gave in and tried a track saw after 3 years of saying no way

I've been using a circular saw with a clamped straight edge for all my sheet goods since I started building fences and decks. A buddy kept telling me to just borrow his track saw but I thought it was overkill for rough cuts. Then I had to rip 12 sheets of 3/4 plywood for a shed at a jobsite in Portland and my arm was dead by lunch. He let me use his Festool for the last 6 sheets and I swear the cuts were cleaner and took half the time. Now I'm looking at used ones online but they're still like $400. Anyone else resist a tool for years then regret waiting?

Why do we always wait until our bodies give out before we try something smarter? I did the same thing with a dust collector. Told myself for years that shop vacs worked fine. Then I built a built-in and couldn't breathe after sanding. My wife made me borrow one from a neighbor. Now I can't imagine going back. It's like we think struggling is part of the trade, but it's not.
