Just dropped $300 on a cordless framing nailer and it's already paid for itself

I had a whole deck ledger to hang last week and it would have taken me all day with a hammer. With this thing, I was done in under two hours. Anyone have tips on keeping the battery life strong over a full day of work?

But what about the days you only have a few nails to drive? Doesn't that $300 tool just sit there, losing battery charge while you're paying it off?

Seriously, you can rent those for like twenty bucks at the hardware store.
