That "simple, solid option" mindset is key. I force myself to write down the dumbest possible solution first, then only add complexity if it's really needed. It stops me from overbuilding from the start.

Absolutely! It took me a few disasters to learn that lesson. I used to always take the complicated path, thinking it was smarter. Ended up creating twice the work for myself when things went sideways. My own stubbornness was the real headache. Now I go for the simple, solid option every time. Saves my future self from my past self's bad ideas.

That "saves my future self" line is so true. I once spent a whole weekend building a super complex spreadsheet to track something simple. A basic list would've worked fine, and I'd have gotten my weekend back. Learned that the hard way.
