Caulk gun angle trick I wish I knew sooner

I spent months fighting with messy bead lines on baseboards around my rental in Austin. Turns out I was holding the tube too steep, like 70 degrees, when the pros mostly keep it around 45 and let the tip glide flat. After watching a 10 minute YouTube video from a drywall guy, I redid a whole closet in one pass and barely had to wipe anything. Anyone else have a small grip adjustment that fixed a big annoyance in their trim work?
