Built two garden beds last month, one with cedar and one with pressure treated pine
Cedar cost me $80 more for the same size 4x8 bed, but after a month in the rain the pine is already showing rot spots while the cedar looks brand new. The pine was easier to cut and felt sturdier when I was assembling it, but now I'm worried it won't last a year. Has anyone else had pine garden beds fall apart faster even with proper sealing?

Read somewhere that the chemicals they treat pine with can actually trap moisture and speed up rot instead of preventing it. Might be worth swapping to cedar now before you fill those beds with soil.
