Vent: my rear brake started squealing on the Greenway bridge and I fixed it with 400 grit
Was riding home across the bridge on Tuesday and the rear brake started howling so loud a jogger gave me a dirty look. Got home, pulled the pads, and saw they were glazed and greasy. Hit them with 400 grit sandpaper on a flat countertop, cleaned the rotor with rubbing alcohol, and the squeal was gone in one ride. Turns out I had been touching the rotor with bare hands every time I flipped the bike. Anyone got a good way to keep my greasy fingers off the rotor when I'm working on the rear wheel?
