Rainy Saturday turned my chain into a rusty mess, lesson learned the hard way
Last month we got that freak storm on a Saturday, and I left my commuter leaning against the porch rail because I was too lazy to wheel it into the shed. Next morning the chain had that orange crust all over it, and shifting felt like grinding gravel. I spent about 2 hours with a rag, some degreaser, and a cheap chain tool I got for $9 on Amazon, but honestly the quick fix was just wiping it down with Teflon lube after every wet ride. Does anyone else just keep a spray bottle of lube near the door so you actually remember before the rust sets in?
