Pro tip: don't try to fix a seized seatpost with a blowtorch
My old steel frame's seatpost was stuck solid, so I watched a video where a guy said heat could break the corrosion bond. I used a small propane torch for about 30 seconds, heard a loud pop, and the whole seat tube paint bubbled and peeled off like a bad sunburn. What's the right way to get a stuck post out without ruining the frame?

I had good luck with a long soak of penetrating oil and some gentle twisting force. Let the oil work its way down for a day or two, then try to turn the post with a long wrench for leverage. What kind of seatpost is stuck in there?

Ever tried the ammonia trick for an aluminum post in a steel frame? I've seen penetrating oil just make a mess without breaking that corrosion bond... skylerw87. A few drops of household ammonia with a little wait time can work way better for that kind of stuck situation.
