My buddy in Portland swore by the 'just tighten it more' method for bottom brackets...
He told me to crank my old square taper BB with a big wrench until it stopped creaking, no torque wrench needed. I did it, and after about 50 miles the whole thing seized solid and wrecked the frame. Had to scrap the bike. Anyone know a good way to tell when a creak is actually a sign you need to replace the part, not just crank on it?
