Unpopular opinion: a 7 euro laundry day in Tbilisi taught me more than any travel blog
I was sitting in a tiny laundromat off Marjanishvili last Tuesday, killing 2 hours while my clothes spun, and this guy next to me was on a work call talking about his Q3 goals. He wasn't stressed at all. He just closed his laptop when the buzzer went off, folded his shirts, and left. I realized I had been treating slow chores like wasted time instead of the thing that actually makes this life work. Now I plan one boring admin day a week and my focus on the other 6 got way better. Does anyone else schedule their laundry like a meeting, or is that just me?
Honestly the part about the guy closing his laptop when the buzzer went off hit me hard. I do the same thing you did, I treat laundry and dishes and trips to the bank like this annoying gap between the "real" stuff. Tbh I started blocking out Sunday afternoons for exactly that kind of boring admin stuff and it changed my whole week. When I know the dumb little tasks have a home, I stop dreading them and stop letting them pile up in my head all week. Ngl folding a basket of towels with a podcast on is weirdly calming now and I actually look forward to it.
