TIL most people pack way too much tech gear for a trip

I spent six months in Lisbon and saw so many people lugging huge bags with laptops, tablets, and extra monitors... I started with two laptops and a tablet, but after a month I only used my one small laptop for everything. It saved me about 8 pounds in my bag and made moving between places so much easier. Has anyone else cut down to just one main device and been surprised?

Oh man, I feel called out! I used to be that person with a separate tablet just for watching movies on the plane. Now my phone does it all, and I don't miss the extra charger or the weight at all.
