Talked to a hostel owner in Bali who made me rethink my whole vibe
I was staying at this spot in Canggu for a week and got to chatting with the owner, a guy named Wayan who has been running hostels for like 15 years. He told me digital nomads these days are way too focused on finding the perfect coworking space with fiber internet and fancy coffee, while back in 2010 people just worked from a hammock with a hotspot stick. It hit me different because I've been stressing over reviews and chair ergonomics when really the whole point is to be somewhere new and connect with people. Has anyone else caught themselves overcomplicating the nomad thing compared to the old school way?

Did he actually miss that old way of doing things or was he just saying it to mess with people who overthink this stuff now? Like did he really prefer working from a hammock with crap internet or is it more about the mindset shift?
