Realized I was chasing coworking spaces for the wrong reason in Lisbon

For 8 months I paid 40 euros a week for flashy coworking spots, thinking the wifi and coffee were the point. Then I spent 3 days at a library in Chiado because my card got declined, and got more deep work done than the whole previous month. The thing everyone gets wrong is they treat coworking like a productivity hack, but it's really just a social crutch. I noticed my best output happened when I stopped caring about the vibe and just needed a quiet chair and a power outlet. Has anyone else found their actual work sweet spot in the most boring places, or am I the only one who fell for the hype?

Paid 40 bucks a week to stare at my laptop in a cooler room, eh?
