Picked Puerto Vallarta over Medellin for a month, zero regrets so far

I was set on Medellin for my next remote work stint, everyone raves about it. But a buddy in the nomad slack group said PV was calmer and cheaper for what I wanted. I booked a month here in Zona Romantica and the wifi at my Airbnb has hit 40 Mbps every single day, plus my rent is $650. Has anyone else who picked a less hyped spot ended up happier than they expected?
