Heard a guy at a coworking space say "WiFi is WiFi" and it made me laugh then cry

I was grabbing coffee at this spot in Lisbon last week and some dude in his 20s was bragging about working from a beach in Thailand with just a hotspot. He said WiFi is WiFi like it's all the same. Which is hilarious because I've been doing this for 8 years now and I remember the days when I'd hunt down cafes with actual ethernet ports. My first year digital nomading in 2016 I spent 3 days in Bali without internet because the router was locked in a closet and the owner was on holiday. That guy has no idea what slow loading even means. Has anyone else noticed new nomads just assume the tech works now?
