Heads up about that coworking space in Medellin
I spent last month working from one of those popular coworking spots in El Poblado and the wifi went down 4 times in a single Tuesday. They have a backup provider but it kicked everyone offline for 15 minutes each time while it switched over. Lost a whole client call because of it around 2pm right when I needed to be on Zoom. Their generator also gave out during a short power flicker and I watched three guys lose unsaved work on their laptops. Anyone else run into spotty internet at these places or was my timing just terrible?

That backup failover is a nightmare for Zoom calls, did you check if they had any kind of SLA or guarantee about uptime before you signed up? I'm wondering if most of these places are even required to give you a refund when their connection keeps dropping. Curious if they had a separate wired network for video calls or if everyone was fighting over the same spotty wifi.

@the_river it feels like every coworking space or hotel I've been to lately has the SAME setup - one overloaded wifi router trying to do everything. People just ASSUME the internet will work and never check the fine print about uptime or business class service. That separate wired network would be a DREAM but most places would rather save that money and let us all fight over spotty wifi.
