Had a perfect day in Lisbon last Tuesday and it made me grumpy
I found a cafe with stable wifi, finished a project two hours early, and then spent the afternoon exploring a quiet neighborhood without any tourists. But now every other day feels like a letdown compared to that one. Has anyone else had a single great day ruin their whole travel rhythm?

Try treating that perfect day as a lucky accident instead of a new standard.

That bit about "every other day feels like a letdown" really hit me. I had this one afternoon in Barcelona where I stumbled into a tiny plaza with old guys playing chess and the best damn grilled sardines I’ve ever had. Now when I get dragged to some crowded tourist spot, I just keep thinking about those sardines and the quiet hum of that stupid plaza. It’s like your brain sets a new bar for happiness without asking if it’s fair. Next thing you know you’re mad at a perfectly fine day because it didn’t have that magic. I swear the only fix is to stop chasing that high and just accept that some days are the unicorn and most days are just fine.
