Found out my coworker space in Chiang Mai costs less than my old US apartment's wifi bill

I was looking at my monthly expenses last week and nearly dropped my phone. My coworking space here in Chiang Mai is $85 a month for a dedicated desk with 24/7 access. Back in Austin I was paying $70 just for internet at my crappy apartment. And that internet was slow and spotty. I found this from a budget breakdown on a digital nomad forum from someone who tracked every baht for 6 months. Has anyone else gotten a shock comparing costs between their home country and where they work now?

Hold up. $85 for a whole desk with 24/7 access is insane. My back in Portland wouldn't even cover a crappy hotspot.

Man that math is brutal. $85 gets you a whole workspace and the guy back home pays more just for bad internet. Really puts things in perspective about what we accept as normal pricing. The digital nomad forums blew my mind when I first started looking at them too. Have you noticed any other crazy cost differences that surprised you?
