Finally fixed my wifi in a hostel in Medellin after 4 hours of messing around

I spent way too long trying to figure out why my connection kept dropping every 10 minutes. Turns out it was the hostel's router placement behind a metal cabinet. Has anyone else dealt with random signal issues that ended up being something simple?

Had the exact same thing with a router behind a microwave in Peru. Felt like an idiot.
