Coworking space in Lisbon went from buzzing to dead quiet in 4 months

I used to work out of Second Home in Lisbon and back in April it was packed, people everywhere, great vibe. Now in August it's like a ghost town, maybe 20% full on a good day. I think the summer heat plus all the remote workers heading back to offices is killing it. Has anyone else seen their favorite spot dry up this fast?

Gotta disagree a bit here. Second Home has always been seasonal like that, even before covid the place would empty out in July and August. The summer heat is real but most coworking spaces in Lisbon actually see a bump in June from digital nomads passing through then it drops off hard in August because everyone bounces to the beach or back home. Also Second Home specifically has that indoor garden thing going on which is nice but the AC struggles when it hits 35c so people just stop coming. The real test is if it picks back up in September.

Oh man, hard disagree @david123 lol. I think Second Home’s drop-off is way more about people getting tired of the vibe than just weather, because plenty of coworking spots in Lisbon with worse AC stay packed in August with locals who don’t care about the heat. The indoor garden is overrated too, it gets muggy and loud in there so half the time folks just use it for Instagram pics then leave. If August was really the main issue, you’d see a bigger comeback in September, but that place stays quiet until October usually.
