Honestly, I was grabbing coffee at a spot near Nimman last week and this dude who's been nomading for like 8 years sat down next to me. He said, 'You're always looking for the perfect cafe, but the wifi is the only thing that matters, everything else is just noise.' It hit different because I've spent $400 on coworking memberships this year trying to find the right vibe, but he was right. I kept chasing decor and cold brew quality while my actual work suffered from spotty connections and loud spots. He showed me his setup, just a cheap folding table in his apartment and a portable router he carries from his base in Bali. I'm thinking about testing his approach for a month in Lisbon next, ditching the fancy desks entirely. Has anyone else scaled back their workspace spending and seen better output?

I mean, sure, the wifi is the only thing that matters until you're staring at the same four walls you already hate for 6 hours a day. The cold brew and the fake plants are basically the only thing keeping my brain from realizing I'm just a guy with a laptop and a mild back problem. That dude's been nomading for 8 years, so he's probably forgotten what actual human contact looks like.
