A barista in Medellin made me question my whole WiFi routine

I was working from a cafe in El Poblado last Tuesday when the barista, this guy named Andres, asked why I kept switching spots every hour. He said he watches nomads do it all the time, chasing the strongest signal, but his spot had a repeater that handled 30 people fine. That hit different because I've been paying $45 a month for a coworking pass just to avoid cafe chaos. Now I'm testing his routine, camping one spot for 4 hours with a hotspot as backup. Has anyone else ditched the coworking membership for a solid cafe setup? What's your max time before you move?

Drop the coworking pass for a month and see what happens. I did the same thing last year and saved way more than I expected, plus the coffee was better. The trick is finding a cafe that has a backup generator and decent bathroom access, that's what actually limits my time now. I usually camp 3 to 4 hours max before I need a real lunch break anyway, so the hotspot rarely gets used. Just make sure you tip the barista well on day one, they'll remember you and keep the good seat open.
