A 62-year-old in Chiang Mai made me rethink my whole travel setup

He told me he only carries 4kg of gear after living out of a backpack for 9 years, and suddenly my 18kg of tech and clothes felt ridiculous, has anyone else downsized after talking to a long-term nomad?
