Vent: My art display at that local coffee shop got washed out by bad lighting

Hung 5 pieces at Brew & Bean in Portland last month, thought the warm bulbs would make them look cozy. Nope, turned all my cool blues into muddy gray blobs. Has anyone else had to re-white balance your photos just to prove your pieces don't look like that irl?

hung 3 pieces at a local diner last year with similar warm bulbs. total disaster. i used to think any light was fine as long as people could see it. now i get why artists freak out about gallery lighting.

Burned my retinas out on my first attempt (literally couldn't see straight for an hour). Thought I was being artsy with a bunch of those Edison bulbs. Ended up making my paintings look like they were in a haunted house. My dog wouldn't even look at the wall. Now I just stick with daylight bulbs and hope for the best. Funny how you think you know lighting until you actually try to show your work.
